Special 2 day Showing

This compelling story is what BarbaraVancheri from the Pittsburgh Post Gazette calls, “an eye opener for what happens today when someone calls 911 and a well-staffed and stocked ambulance rolls up, ready and able to save a life.”

Special note from Producer/Director – Gene Starzenski

In 2009 when the “Freedom House Street Savior’s” documentary was completed, it was submitted to numerous white run film festivals. After being unsuccessful in acceptance at any film festivals, (except as a 2 day special showing at the 2009, 3 Rivers Film Festival in Pittsburgh) I decided to enter into the black film festivals. The first black festival to accept the documentary was the 2010, Martha’s Vineyard African American Film Festival. Not only was the documentary accepted, it was also nominated for an HBO award and the Saatchi & Saatchi “Nothing is Impossible” award. Success followed with acceptance to the 2010 Nashville Black Film Festival. While showing the documentary in Nashville, Vanderbilt University invited me back to show the documentary for its International Len’s Series. Since then, the documentary has been showing at major EMS Conferences and Educational Institutions throughout the United State where it has received numerous awards for the Freedom House members and the documentary. More to follow in 2015…
